Frequently asked questions about our Photo Books & Calendars

Q: How long do files take to upload?
A: As a guide a 15mb file should take around 25 minutes to upload to our system depending on your connection. We base this time on a 256k broadband connection. 

Q: How long does it take until i receive my Photo Book or Calendar?
A: We aim to send your item within 7 days of receiving your order, in Australia most orders will be received within 10 days, orders placed from New Zealand and the United Kingdom will be received within approximately 14 days.
  
Q: What happens if i place the wrong photo in my Photo Book or Calendar?
A: When we receive your book or calendar we assume that the PDF is setup correctly.We check your file only to ensure that your file will actually print what you have sent to us. We do not check the content of your book, and as such you are entirely responsible for the content you place within your artwork.

Q: What if I have placed an order and want to cancel it?
A: Once we receive your order and payment, the order cannot be cancelled for any reason whatsoever, and no refunds will be issued.
 
Q: What happens if my book or calendar has been damaged in the post?
A: We take great care when we package our items, firstly we seal them in a water tight polypropylene bag, then we bubble wrap the item, so the chances of receiving a damaged item are very low. We will replace your book or issue a refund on a return to depot basis for damage during the delivery process or production flaws that are a result of the production process. We do need you to return the item to us so we can assess what caused the damage or flaw as we unfortunately get dishonest people who simply try to get a free second book from us. We will not replace books that have mistakes that are the fault of the customer. Warranty is on a return to depot basis. Freight costs are not covered by this warranty. No claims whatsoever will be recognised after seven (7) days from you receiving your product or products.
If you need to make a warranty claim, please send an email to: contact@stellargraphics.com.au with "Warranty Claim" as the subject heading, then in your message please state the job number on your invoice, full name, address and phone number and the reason you are making a warranty claim and if you require a replacement item or a refund. We will email a reply to your claim within two (2) working days.

Q: How many pages are in your Photo Books?
A: A 20 page book has 10 sheets printed on both sides, a 40 page book has 20 sheets printed on both sides.

Q: What is the size of the cut out window on your Hard Cover Photo Books?
A: The size is 130mm wide and 90mm in height, it is centred on the cover.

Q: What sort of paper do you use?
A: Our photo books and calendars are printed on the same silk coated acid free paper with only the paper weight varying. Our photo book inside pages are printed on 170gsm weighted paper, with the wire bound covers printed on 250gsm, our calendars are printed on 250gsm throughout.
The paper is manufactured from Elemental Chlorine Free pulp which is harvested from sustainably managed plantations and forests. The Paper Mill is accredited with ISO14001 (Environmental Protection) and ISO9002 (Quality Control) ensuring an environmentally friendly, quality paper. The paper also qualifies for ISO9706 (Permanent Paper) and is acid free allowing for archival storage for up to 200 years.

Q: I don't have time to do my own artwork, can you do this for me?
Yes we can do artwork for you at an extra cost of $84.95. This process involves placing up to a maximum of 50 photos for a 20 page book, and 100 photos for a 40 page book. All photos you supply must be saved as Jpegs and numbered from 1 to 50 as the filenames i.e. 1.jpg etc, we use these numbers to place into the template in numerical order. Photos must also be colour corrected, manipulated, cropped and adjusted by you before sending to us on CD. We simply place photos into an existing iPhoto template of your choice which you stipulate at time of ordering. We do not apply any text to these pages, its simply a photo placing service. We will email you a PDF for checking before we print your book.

Q: What is your printing process?
A: We print using the latest Konica-Minolta digital printing press which is the latest toner based machinery on the market today. This process is not designed to imitate a photographic print which you get in a digital photo lab, its designed to imitate the offset printing process. Sometimes slight marks or paper indentation from machine rollers may be visible on large areas of image coverage, these are normal occurences and are not considered production flaws and are not covered under our warranty. Other companies that print Photo Books will hardly ever disclose what process they use until you actually see a finished book in front of you, we prefer you to know beforehand, we find our customers appreciate this honesty more. If in any doubt ask us to post you a sample page which is an A4 page with an all over image printed exactly as your book would be.
